Our journey as a church began in 2019 when in a prayer meeting of Regions Beyond God spoke clearly to start new churches in Birmingham and Beyond. As a response, a consultation took place with other churches in Birmingham. It was confirmed that many parts of the city has fewer churches making community impact. We started to pray online and God called people from across the world to join us in establishing new churches in Birmingham and Beyond. Brian and Sarah moved to Birmingham in 2022 and served and supported at Christ Church Birmingham whilst exploring church planting in the region.
In 2023, Brian and Sarah were invited to start a new church in West Bromwich. They were offered the chance to take on the tenancy of Bethesda Chapel in Hill Top.
The chapel had been home to a faithful congregation for many years and in recent times, numbers had become smaller and it had become harder to keep the building going. After lots of prayer and honest conversations, the previous church felt it was the right time to pass things on, and the building was put into trust with The Church Growth Trust.
They invited us to continue the work of sharing Jesus from the same place.
With plenty of prayer and wise input from others, Brian and Sarah made the move to the area in 2024 to begin building a new church community.
The building was renamed The Hope Centre to reflect our heart to bring hope to the community. Throughout 2024, a small team began gathering to pray, share meals, and build friendships. We also started hosting community events like a Light Party and Christmas celebrations and services.
In January 2025, we launched our Sunday services and have continued to grow as a church family. The Hope Centre is now home to regular church gatherings as well as a range of community groups and events.
